Weekly Update 5th July

It was lovely that some of you were able to come to the science fair last Friday (28th June) and see some of the wonderful  things that Nursery have been learning about this term.  Within Early Years, science comes under the curriculum area called 'Understanding the World'. At nursery, we have been developing curiosity for the world around us and thinking about how things change over time. We have been for walks around the school and observed seasonal changes, looked for minibeasts, explored planting seeds and watching them grow and learning about taking care of them. We have experienced, first hand, the changes that happen to a caterpillar as it is transformed into a butterfly.

We went on a bug hunt and this is what we found.

This week, some butterflies emerged from their chrysalis. As you can imagine, the children were very excited. On Thursday we released the butterflies and the children saw them fly away!
